The NJEA’s Disaster Relief Fund assists members facing hardship from natural disasters including hurricanes, fires, and flooding. In an email sent to members, Bridgewater-Raritan Education Association President Laura Kress encouraged all affected NJEA members to utilize the NJEA Disaster Relief Fund if they have been displaced from their primary residence as a result of Hurricane Ida.

As you’re aware Somerset County bore a great deal of Ida’s destruction. In the days following the initial impact, the scope and devastation of the storm comes into better focus challenging us all as members of the NJ statewide community.  If you were severely impacted by the storm such that you are displaced from your primary residence, the NJEA Disaster Relief Fund is available to assist our members.

NJEA members are encouraged to contact their local association president to submit the necessary paperwork to receive assistance. If you are a Bridgewater-Raritan Education Association member who has been displaced, please contact President Laura Kress by email: If there are ay clerical issues or questions, please feel free to contact B-REA:
